SKKI TRIKKE - FAKRO Cup 2008
Trikke Poland hosted in association with “Fakro” the 2nd Trikke Skki World Championships.
The race weekend took place in the little village of Muszyna in the south-east of Poland. The race was held in the village of Krynicka on the slopes of Jaworzyna. The weekend started on Thursday and the first rides where on Friday. Friday morning the novice riders had their first lessons and all fell in love with this new riding platform. The Trikke Skki made them feel secure and in control. So most of them signed in to also compete with the experienced riders on Saturday.
The experienced Trikke Skki racers spent their morning on the “Trikke Skki Track” in the forests around Muszyna. In these woods the Fakro company has created a downhill track, that is similar to the boarder- or ski-cross know already from the Winter Olympics 2006. This track in Poland is however natural, with sharp turns, jumps, s-curves and a lot possibilities to take over. Racing so close together felt like racing in the touring car championships and this tracks has opened our eyes for a perfect future racing discipline on the Skki!
Saturday, race day, started with snow in the morning and rain in the afternoon. All riders did three runs off which the 2 fastest where combined. The Polish rider Grzegorz Kurek won the race and took the world championship in an exciting race.
