New Trikke record is set by riding 627 km (390 miles) non stop
Not in the USA where the Trikke originates from but in Genoa Italy the new world record of long distance Trikking is set!
His name is Christian Beni, he is 32 years old and started Trikking 2 years ago. After his first rides he knew he was hooked for live. The riding experience of the Trikke had touched his soul.
He mainly used the Trikke for fun and fitness and loved it so much he wanted to share the Trikke with the rest of Italy. He started in Genova where he participated in benefit events, such as a benefit day dedicated to fight cancer in Porto Antico(neuroblastoma.org) During these events visitors could try out several Trikke models. The money earned went to the funds. The event visitors found serenity and big fun in the unique Trikke movement. After several events the local TV stations broadcasted him and the Trikke in several shows. His TV performance triggered the newspaper journalists and soon he and his Trikkes were legendary. They all loved the Trikke.
In August 2006 he started his biggest challenge so far. He decided to set a personal and World Guinness record by riding 627 km (390 miles) non stop from Genova to Rome. He called this trip the “Genova-Rome No Limits”
Of course the idea alone got a lot of attention of the media, several newspapers such as Il Corriere, Mercantile and Il Secolo XIX published articles about his record attempt. Next to that Telegenova filmed his trip and Radio Babboleo called him during his trip for live updates.
On the 14th of august he started in Genova and finished 41 hours later in Rome. After each short brakes he switched Trikkes, from a Trikke 8 air to a Trikke 8 PU and finishing with a Trikke 12 roadster. His average speed was 17 km/h (10,5 mph)
We congratulate him with this amazing performance and with his world record!
In 2007 Christian will try to set a new world record by riding his Trikke for 1000 km (620 miles) from Genova to Paris!
We wish him the best of luck in his challenge to set this incredible record.
